The following will serve to answer some questions regarding custom elevator pad and mats in regards to measurements, installation and more. For more information, please visit us at qualityelevatorpads.com.
1. Why invest in elevator pads and mats?
Both are about protection! Whether it’s protecting passengers, freight or the interior of the elevator cab, pads and mats provide heavy-duty protection that prevents damage. Moreover, pads and mats are a cost-effective safety measure when compared to the staggering costs of elevator cab repairs, damaged freight, or worst of all, injury to passengers.
2. Are there accommodations for an elevator that has a set of double doors?
Yes. Measurements of all walls, including the walls that house the doors and button panels is needed. Visit our website for details and our measurement guides. Please contact a Quality Elevator Pads representative at qualityelevatorpads@gmail.com or call (239) 703-2954 for questions and additional help with taking precise measurements for your custom elevator pads and mats.
3. What elevator wall pads choices are available?
We’re proud to offer three materials to suit your needs: regular vinyl, canvas, and deluxe vinyl pads. All are custom-cut to your elevator's wall dimensions and constructed with an impact-resistant core of vinyl-reinforced polyester for long-lasting protection from dents and scratches. Each material is available in an array of colors to match any color scheme. A little about each material:
Regular vinyl: durable vinyl-reinforced polyester designed to protect elevator interiors during regular use.
Canvas: heavy-duty canvas designed to provide superior protection and a richer appearance for upscale interiors (not recommended for warm-weather areas or outdoor elevators as they can get musty over time).
Deluxe vinyl: heavy-duty vinyl-reinforced polyester designed to protect cabs while moving furniture and supplies on a continuous basis. Ideal for freight elevators.
4. What elevator mat choices are available?
All floor mats are heavy-duty, commercial-grade mats used to protect high traffic areas such as elevator floors. They're constructed of a finely woven coarse polypropylene material that's embedded into a strong, durable rubber backing for extra slip prevention. Mats are custom-cut to your elevator's floor dimensions, and have a beveled edge to provide a safe and even walking surface. Mats are available in an array of colors to match any color scheme.
5. Do these products meet applicable codes?
Yes. All pads conform to applicable codes and include Rule 204.2 for passenger car enclosures and all pertinent US, Canadian, and GSA safety codes. They are flame retardant per ASTM E84 Class A, MVSS302, CAN3-B44-M85, and NFPA 701. Pads are to hang no 4 inches from the floor to be in compliance with fire codes and do not become an obstacle or tripping hazard in the event of an emergency.

6. How are elevator pads hung?
There are several hanging solutions to meet your needs. In addition to the traditional grommets, we recommend the studstrip design to eliminate the need for complicated measurements and in fact, is more durable. We carry an extensive inventory of hooks, studs, and adjustable clamps to securely hang protective pads from any elevator cab. Click here for more information.
